(I'm under EVIL grace period and 10-minute time goal. Let's see where I'll go from here.)
Well, I'm going to say this once again, with feelings: I CAN FEEL THE PRESSURE RIGHT NOW. And it's not just the MP.
March has officially set in, and I just realized that around 10 o'clock this morning by the way, and that only means the finals are getting nearer and nearer.
(I just realized I probably won't get very far: my mother keeps on talking to me and it's hard to keep track of what I'm typing when I'm trying to maintain a decent conversation without actually being rude.)
And it's not just the exams that are bothering me (but they DO bother me BIG TIME, for clarifications), but the major requirements as well. And it's always, ALWAYS depressing when you get to talk to your high school batchmates about requirements and stuff.
One famous analogy:
their lecture = our introductory remarks
their exercises = our lecture examples
their projects = our take-home activities
their ___?____ = our projects
I seriously don't want to complete that. Because it's frustratingly stupid and unfair. And THEY get higher grades. T_T
Unfair.
And yes, I do have a basis for comparison, so shut it, Jareth.
Sucks to that my computer's acting up again. I probably should buy new components for him pretty soon. Wait, I already did, and it was worth P700 flat. Huh.
"PeeCee-chan, what's wrong with you? Genki desu?"
I mean, come on. He (Yes, a guy.) is perhaps the sole unit that defied the common opinion regarding the three major internet browsers today. So far, here's my computer's feedback:
Firefox works really well and ----------
OH LOOK, 10 MINUTES IS OVER: Overall word count: 266, excluding this line.
If this is not what you're looking for, go yonder and aim for the sun.

I'm under strict grace period here.
Huh. Well, so much for the daily typing exercise. I'm seriously abusing my body these days: no exercise (neither walking nor the weekly-increasing number of jogging laps count), no sleep (for real), strained eyesight (as if my eyes need any more damaging). It's amazing I have not dropped dead, yet. Hopefully we won't have to come to that point. Still, it's never good to test one's limits.
Speaking of limits, random fact. Our Sociology teacher said that the average mind can only maintain 7 hours of pure concentration every day.
Pity the admin who assigned us the ebil Thursday wasn't aware of that fact. Seriously. 8 hours of nonstop discussions, labs, and more nose-bleeding discussions? The hell. Also, someone I know once said that UP has this unique ability to turn your favorite class into torture chamber*.
Technically, my favorite subject is English, and up to the present, that's hasn't happened to me. Then again, I love my course (BS Computer Science), too. And I will willingly stab anyone in the front who will say this course is a damn breeze. Because IT. IS. NOT.
Side note remark: our COMM2 professor said to the Americans (or British, not sure), the word "shall" is considered obsolete. They now use the general word "will".
So, will we dance? Yes, we will.
Anyway, back to the topic. Yes, I admit. I am in deep shit right now. Really frightening, if you ask me since this is only my first year. Hmm, I think I mentioned that in my previous post, or Plurk. Whatever.
Another thing: I have major issues with Procrastination.
Sure, our relationship is mutual and oddly satisfying, but that's the real deal.
Makes sense? No? Good. It's not supposed to. This is a Write or Die frenzy so anything I'm typing right now isn't supposed to make any sense.
Actually, this whole thing is just between me, my PC, and my blog. I don't know why you're reading this. Not that I mind, honestly, but... Oh well.
==========================
*I cannot recall what he exactly said. The phrase "torture chamber" came from me, so if you somehow were offended by that, sue me.

Let me explain things first.
So, my keyboard and mouse got busted last Monday so Mom and I went to SM Manila to buy new ones. I'm so thankful that the admin people created the concept of Cyberzone because all the computer stores there were able to expand their lots. Anyway, long story short, we bought decent replacements (at least, I hope they really are. I coughed up P700 for those gadgets).
The dilemna: the mouse I bought was highly sensitive, sleek and shiny, has a rotating wheel, AND it's uber-small. Notebook-type small. And my right hand is not used to it.
Maybe it's just my paranoid mind controlling my body but somehow, with a mouse that small it tends to strain the palm a lot.
Sooo, to exercise my palms, one of the clerks at Octagon suggested that I do typing exercises everyday to relax the joints. And that's what I'm doing right now.
Haha, I get to kill two birds with one stone.
Most likely, HOPEFULLY, my blog will be revived this way.
[Normally, this is enough exercise already, but I'm using Write or Die [amazing application, by the way, I highly recommend this] and I'm on a roll. 'Sides, it's only 200 words.]
With that, I'm rather ashamed to announced that I'm really ready to ditch that official 2009 Welcome post. Why? Because, seriously people, March is about to set in. It'll be completely irrelevant now, not to mention a waste of time, and utterly awkward to read AND write. I'll probably just stick to this daily typing exercise and see what my hands will produce.
Only 260+ words. Shame. Let's try to make this thing reach 500. It's the least I could do for my starved blog.
Life's been pretty groovy. Outside class, that is. I'm starting to appreciate those social network sites (particularly Multiply, Facebook, Plurk and Twitter). Hooha for Friendster, though. I don't think I'll be able to fully appreciate that one. It's too...gangly (is that the right term?)...for my taste. Though from what I hear from third-hand accounts, MySpace can sometimes be worse. Ugh.
In defense though, I only, TRULY use Plurk, Twitter and Facebook. I only use Multiply to access those protected accounts of my friends. Now though, I found Multiply to be an excellent publishing site for my memes. It's more fun there. :3
Oh, yeah, by the way. I have good news for you, bloggu! No more memes here! I'll only post really posts here, so no more senseless Q&As for you. I'll just dump those at my Multiply account.
420. That's fast.
Random thought, probably my last for this post: I'm in deep shit. Seriously. I think I need to reassess my strategies. It's kind of frustrating not to be able to understand those things I seriously need to pass this course, but wow. This is the first time I'm sitting in class and staring at board with nothing going on inside my brain. It's like my brain waves suddenly got blocked or something. I dunno, brain overload maybe, and system still hasnt' recovered lost data.\
505. You're good.
Over and out.

/*Because "broken" is reparable. Suffocation can only be relieved when the cause has been actually uplifted. A broken object can still be fixed, even if the cause is still physically present.*/
Forgive my seemingly pointless thoughts. I really have to let them out. I'll be as vague as I can to protect others's privacy.
=======================================
Is it so bad to belong? I always said I prefer to be the lone wolf but heck, I never said I wanted to be a hermit.
Is it so bad to want? I'm only human, no matter how cold and aloof and heartless I project myself to be. I grew up in a society. It's only normal for me to want a sense of home in my newest phase in life.
Is it so bad to be happy? Every time something good happens to me (they're rare, FYI), something will happen to neutralize the euphoria. I know there's a rule for Equal and Opposite Reactions but must the opposite really be devastating?
Every time I try, they cut me off with vindictiveness.
Every time I made an effort, it blows up in my face.
Every time I reach out, someone or something bites back.
Why?
Damnnit, tell me why.
It's all funny (yes, I'm laughing my ass off) how Life gets back at you: completely off the records. You do one thing and see how things a mile radius around you gets affected.
Wow.
Is that the so-called Cosmos Chain Reaction?
I'm being bitter, yes.
I'm always bitter.
Because life is so unfair. Screw Jareth for coining the phrase "basis for comparison".
*My* life is so unfair. I can almost feel the people up there laughing.
Probably because I'm intentionally staying true to my newest label.
"Bitchy drama queen-wannabe."
That's right. I'm being true to it. Mostly because I'm being damn aloof.
I know that all of you know that I know this is just another teenage hormone-driven thing. And I think I'm right. It is just another teenage hormone-driven thing. I'll probably laugh as much as you guys did by the time I'm 20 years old and this post's still existing. That's life: you do crazy things for every phase of your life. Let's just hope I don't get pregnant outside of marriage. That would suck big time.
You want to know what pushed the button? (I'm being thoroughly selfish, I know. I'm pretending to be considered when I actually am leaving you no choice in the matter.)
Someone deleted me from Plurk. Someone special.
/*And he's not Xander because obviously, DUH peeps don't like to tell the world that they're in fact closely connected with one another. So drop it.*/
And I can't reach out to him. Partly because he cut off connections with me and it's quite foolish to reach out to him via the internet where practically ANYBODY can see it.
Damn...here comes another day you dread seeing. I hate it. I bet I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.
It's creeping me out, in a way, how thoroughly affected I am. Proof is how lengthy and frequent my posts have become. That's one thing I pride myself as a writer. I use words to somewhat ease whatever's bothering me.
Still, words will never be enough.
Hmm, strange. Used effectively, words ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH to get the message across, then hurt some.
Yep, words hurt big time.
/*Signing out.*/

It's hard to work on a group project when there's no sense of "group unity" in the first place. Having been on either extreme sides on a group several times before, it's also similarly hard to point fingers.
It's amazing, really, how group dynamics are similar wherever you go, whatever project you're on, whoever you're working with. Oh wait, there are exceptions to that of course, but I'll get to that later.
Group dynamics. I hope the following will just be my observations. It would be too depressing if they are indeed the trend among other group activities.
In a group, there will always be the alpha, the leader, the dominant party. There are several ways as to how that entity assumed such a role; sometimes by age, seniority, ability, charisma, or even by default. Anyway, that's not significant. No matter what the circumstances are, there will always, ALWAYS be someone leading the pack. That "someone" may of course not be just a single unit. It may be several persons, too.
Now, there will also be the sub, the follower. They may choose to follow the alpha by will, or by rule. They have this sense of belonging to the group they're in, and so will follow the flow dictated by the leader. Or perhaps, they are bound by the group, and has no choice but to blend among the members.
Notice how I'm describing a group in the sense of an animal pack.
Human packs work similarly on the simplest term, but being humans whose minds are more complex, so are the dynamics.
Of all the group activities I've participated in, I have yet to join one who has diverted from the norm (in my point of view, that is).
In a group, there will always be someone who will lead. Sometimes they will take up the responsibility willingly, mainly because they like the project/task assigned to them and already has an idea as to how to manage the group. Sometimes though, they are there by default. No one wants to lead in the first place. Left in limbo, someone is bound to assume the role out of fear for the consequences (low grades, failing grades, angry teachers, hurt pride, etc).
The rest are followers.
In an animal pack where the tasks are dictated by instinct alone, every individual can work in sync with each other, perhaps because they share the same instincts (duh, they are a pack). In a human pack however, things are more complicated. The tasks appointed are not usually a matter of life and death (literally speaking). They are requirements by the institutions they currently belong in (school).
Left to their own devices, the following is usually observed (based on my observation).
It's hard to catch everybody's attention. The bigger the group, the harder it will be. Not everybody is interested and not everybody is willing to offer some input, thinking along the lines "Ah, someone will suggest anyway. I'll leave it to them." When majority's thinking about the same thing, we have a problem.
Compromise is a bitch, losers are bitter. If ever there comes a point where everybody has a say on matters, it's worse than migraine to come up with something that will satisfy every suggestion. Fact of life: you can't. Some ideas will turn out to be off-the-hook kind of ideas and will be rejected. So, the owners will feel bitter and be apathetic about the whole thing at the least, retaliate or rebel at worst.
Those without direct roles assigned will most likely stand by and watch. Is it me or are only those in-charge of the several sub-departments working actively? Am I wrong to think that people are only visible in the production process when they know they have something definite to work on and not just assigned to a rather broad task such as "props"?
It's sooo much easier to belong to statistics than to actually be a candidate. The encouraging part here is that with your vote, you helped make a difference. Seriously! You may never know if your vote actually helped others with their decisions which in turn helped reaching a group resolution. It's a chain reaction. You vote, so someone will vote the same thing, causing another one to vote as well. The depressing part is it's hard to move on with that kind of attitude. Think about it.
/*Here goes the bitter part of me brought upon the several instances of failed group activities*/
When they call you "leader" most of them actually meant "all-around-handyman-personnel". Now, that's just plain stupid, if not so escapist-thinking. True a leader must know every going-ons in his or her group but that doesn't mean he or she must do spoon-feeding. But most of the time, that's just it. The leader is left to tie up all loose ends, as in all of it. Being given the chance to lead groups before, I myself know how troublesome and stressing those moments are. A few have driven me up at wall, even.
So much for that.
I'm posting this to alleviate the constricting pain I feel in the light of the current circumstances.
And as an answer to a certain blockmate's blog post as well.
During Saturday's discussion, I participated there knowing full well there would be dire repercussions. I also knew that it was an act of rebellion. Or perhaps, retaliation would be an alternative term.
With that, I apologize to everyone who was aggravated, especially the original people taking charge of things. It was an act out of retaliation with the way things were going.
I do not plan to defend the other side, knowing someone else is better to do it. Still, I also do not plan on chickening out.
What I do hope, though, is for reconciliation and compromise. It would be a pity and a sorry loss on both blocks concerned if all civility and camaraderie would go poof! just because of this activity (DPSM week) which ironically was intended to strengthen the bonds between the two.
Reconciliation. Peace. Apologies. I'm willing to give up pride if it might help solve the ever rising tension. I'm sure the others share the same sentiments. We were all at fault, one way or another. Even I acknowledge my shortcomings. Again I apologize, especially to our blockhead who worked so hard to keep all things together.
Compromise. Albeit morbidly uplifting, voicing out your protests with only your allies as audience is nothing short of waste of breath. We will not reach any moot point by doing that.
/*Wow, another open forum or conference? Will that help? Baka lumala lang ang sitwasyon. Pero kung kaya, then go.*/
I end this (rather lengthy and perhaps shallow to some) post with full sincerity of my apologies and hope that everything will be settled soon.
We have just begun this journey, friends. Please, let it not start with animosity hiding just behind our backs. It won't be of benefit any time in the future.
Cheers.
(PS. Please, I wish to hear your sides. Comment on this.)

I have a fever. It's officially my first bout of sickness during this second semester. Last time I had two, the first one coincidentally striking on the day of my first ever departmental exam. The last one came up somewhere mid-sem.
So, a fever. What caused it this time? Aside from the usual dehydration syndrome (yes folks, I'm still a lazy drinker, my mom's going nuts reminding me time and time again to drink water), we finally figured out what's causing these annoying sneezing fits: dust mites. My mom, a loyal informative morning shows fan, happened to chance upon a medical snippet featuring allergic rhinitis (Did I get this right? I don't trust ScribeFire's built-in spelling check). According to the doctor, AR is caused by dust mites, microscopic, no-eyes, eight-legged freaks of nature that resides in dust particles and feeds off from danders (skin flakes). So yeah, I'm allergic to miniscule flea bags. Joy. I can finally tell people what I'm allergic to. It's a bit weird to tell people that your just having another allergy fit but don't know specifically what caused it.
Thank goodness I don't have much school work to do. Oh wait, scratch that. I do. My schedule's not just that strict and cruel, yet. The heaviest one so far is the position paper for NatSci4. Speaking of which, I have to somehow remind myself to watch "The Inconvenient Truth" again this Monday. I chose that documentary because the other two weren't exactly convenient for me. I don't have a copy of the "11th hour" (shame, I want to see Pitt do narrating stuff), and I'm fairly disappointed with Richard Gutierrez's "Signos". Networks these days create better plugs than programs. Besides, I have much more things to comment on Al Gore's docu. I might even mention my two-thumbs-up opinion on his frog example and off-the-records analogy.

/*My Winamp is currently playing "When I Grow Up" by Pussycat Dolls. Ahh, the memories.*/
My computer is currently being dominated by OpenSource projects. I have installed Winamp, Codeblocks, OpenOffce, Firefox Notepad++ and Yahoo! Messenger (the latter, though a freeware, doesn't actually fall under OpenSource thingies, I believe). Now, if only they have an OpenSource application that's similar to Dreamweaver and Photoshop then I would have gladly declared my current PC status complete. Sadly, there are no such things. That leaves me with the menial task of rummaging through all my installer CDs to look for said applications.
Firefox does the rest for me. It's currently my powerhouse app. I filled it with at least ten add-ons and downloaded seven skins on an artistic whim. I also downloaded Google Desktop to support some of my needs.
The bottom line here is that I'm partly doomed when the internet is down. I'm 70% dependent on it. Plus, half of my life officially resides in the world wide web.
There's Plurk. It has an interface similar to Twitter (sp?). Now, normally I would have said more about this but since I can't**, I'll just inform you that there's a Wikipedia site for both social networks. Google them. Anyway, what made this particularly attractive to me is that it poked the inner competitiveness in me. I swear it was the concept of karma points that made me fall for it. And I recall having told someone that I might lose enthusiasm as soon as I reach Plurk Nirvana. At the rate I'm going I might accomplish it at the end of the year, give or take a week.
There's Multiply. No, I don't "do" Multiply per se. I only made an account there to be able to connect to others. Besides, most of the posts there are fairly amusing *ahem*Maykol*ahem*.
There's Fanfiction.net. Speaking of which, I miss my ships.
There's Google Reader. It's my ultimate updater. With it, I get to cut my browsing time in half.

I thought that as a Computer Science student, I would be spending more time with my beloved PC than most students. I was right. Though I haven't experienced it yet, I know it'd be hell when come MP-making period and you don't have a computer within reach anytime. Computer shops aren't that reliable for us anymore. I mean, honestly, how many computer shops have Codeblocks of DevCpp installed in them?
/* Well, there was one shop I went once where the computer I was assigned to and the units on either side of me (no one was using them) have Codeblocks installed. It was working, too. I checked each of them. Weird. */
And this is one thing I noticed as well: unlike in our high school days, bringing a laptop to school is CONVENIENT. Screw the possible thieves and snatchers roaming around Taft Avenue, laptops are babies! It's more convenient than bringing a universal notebook (I did that during 3rd and 4th year high school). When most of your professors/instructors upload references on the internet, it's getting more and more impractical (and costly) to print these hand-outs. At least when you have a laptop, you don't need to print them anymore. All you need is a fairly large memory capacity.
I've been "trying" to save for a laptop since fourth year, but unfortunately I can't move beyond the "trying" stage. Things are excessively costly these days. I hate it. At the rate of saving I'm going, I'll be able to buy one by the end of my graduating year (that is/must/should be on my fourth year, I don't want to be delayed). Though I'll still be needing one even after I graduate, (duh) it's, er, I don't know, depressing for me.
What's more depressing is that I'm aiming for a Mac. 'nuff said.
All in all, I need to get a f--cking job by next year.
Question: Which of the following heroic deeds would you have done?
a. capture a criminal
b. save a forest from denudation
c. find a cure for a supposedly non-curable disease
d. ________ (you make one)
Me answers: “Normally, I would have chosen D, but the air con's just behind my back and it's rather hard to think creatively when your bones are shivering. So, I'll take A. In the past, while the other kids were saying, “I want to be a doctor!”, I was like “I want to become the world's greatest detective!”. Oh, and I've been watching too many Criminal Minds and CSI episodes than what's healthy.”
Update on that (I forgot to include this): “Then my whole world came crashing down when I learned that UP doesn't have any courses for that. So I went with the band wagon and said “I want to be a doctor!” And of course, I landed here in Computer Science.”
Question: Who possesses your ideal body type?
Block 12 says: “Michael Fox.” ~ Jenielle
Me answers: David Bowie, but he's old. Cho Hakkai, but he does not exactly belong to this reality. So that leaves me with er, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen. For someone nearer to my race, Ohno Satoshi. Oh wait, are we talking about the body type for my gender? Hmm, Angelina Jolie then. Or Madonna when she was younger. Ack, sorry, I don't usually spend my time ogling at a woman's body.
Question: You know you have made it when....?
Block 12 says: “When I have learned all the things I want to learn like how to play the guitar...and others.” ~ Christine
Me answers: When I can honestly die worrying only who I will first meet in the other side. I have never feared death, but I didn't say I'm not worried about my death date, whenever that is.
Question: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Block 12 says: “[something about moving on, Philo1 troubles, and grades]” ~ Chessell
Me answers: “If you want to live in a world where no one will give you a damn, go live as a hermit. You live in a society, girl. Deal with it.” ~ Mom. Ironically enough, she then continued her sermon with how cynicism and wit will eventually be of use to me when I become a yuppie.
Question: If you were given the chance to talk to animals, what would you say?
Block 12 says: “...make friends with them...” ~ Chester
Me answers: Make friends with them (meh, what to do other than that anyway?), learn their language (figuratively speaking).
Question: What invention would you like to have invented? [There's something wrong with how I phrased that question, I know. I just couldn't remember the actual one.]
Block 12 says: “Time machine...because I have several mistakes in the past that I want to undo.” ~ Ian
Me answers: A new line of technology that is actually a hybrid of Sun Microsystems's free ware, Microsoft's advanced features, and Japan's own brand of tech knowledge. Hmm, perhaps a little emphasis on the “free” concept will do, too.
Question: What is your favorite scent?
Block 12 says: “[insert a few fancy line of fragrances like Oxygen]” ~ Francis
Me answers: Coffee with a dash of cinnamon and citrus. Works like magic to perk me up every single time.
Question: Give your top 3 phobias.
Block 12 says: “Fear of snakes, [I forgot the other one! Sorry!], and fear of God.” ~ NiƱo
Me answers: Fear of cockroaches, cockroaches, and fear of cockroaches. What can I say?
Question: If you had all the time, money and resources in the world, what skill would you like to develop?
Block 12 says: “Skill of singing...” ~ Dan
Me answers: Aw shucks, do I really have to mention just one? [does a coin toss] OK coin toss says I'd train to become an expert in sharp-shooting, sword fighting, and self-defense. You know, weapon-mistress-wanna-be and all that fiz? Who lost the coin toss? The honor of being called a techno-geek. So yeah, hacking, decrypting and all that jazz. Shame really, if that one won then it means I'd be living up to my course's expectations.
Question: If there was a machine that can increase something a hundred times its original size, what would you put inside it?
Block 12 says: “Food.” ~ Alyzza
Me answers: Someone that day verbalized my thoughts: precious gems or metal like gold, diamond, ruby, etc. Aside from the monetary gain, that piece of baby is something the world will be dying to see.
Question: What do you most often dream about?
Block 12 says: Arghh...so sorry! I wasn't able to catch Rovina's answer.
Me answers: It depends on my current situation. During our MP construction period I would always dream about me continuing my efforts on that thing, usually with an unlikely person (*ahem*Ohno*ahem*Hakkai*coughcough*Alucard) popping up to “help” me. When I'm not that stressed though, I usually can't remember my dreams.
Question: If you could add somebody's brain to yours, whose brain would you add?
Block 12 says: “Albert Einstein.” ~ Cristina (take note: she's a college scholar already T_T)
Me answers: Edgar Allan Poe.
Question: If you had to live one year away from civilization and can only bring one item, what would be it?
Block 12 says: “Underwear.” ~ Christmaelyn
Me answers: Me agrees. At least look decent when you get marooned. And I'll just clarify what kind of underwear: one piece. Duh, the question said one item only!
Question: If you could be a sports athlete for the rest of your life, in which sport will it be?
Block 12 says: “[speed racing, I just forgot the term she used].” ~ Patricia
Me answers: Archery.
Question: Which one of the following would you like to appear in if given the chance?
a. reality show
b. beauty pageant
c. skydiving
d. walking on hot coals
e. singing on national TV
Block 12 says: “...reality show...” “Any particular one in mind?” “Er, Amazing Race.” ~ Fiona
Me answers: I really liked this question because I have a comment for every option given! OK, the no-no's first. Only a crackpot would allow me to sing on National TV. Only a suicidal maniac would force/invite/sign me up for a beauty contest. Walking on hot coals is scientifically nothing thrilling, wood is an poor conductor of heat after all. Reality shows are nice but I've been exposed to the magic works of producers, promoters, and directors to actually be gullible enough to believe in a reality show's spontaneity (Meaning most of the reality shows I've watched were scripted.). So, by method of elimination (and partly by preference), I choose skydiving! Wee!! It's better than bungee-jumping, ayt? And less stressful than mountain climbing, too.
Question: If you could somehow look into the future and learned that everybody juggling actually prevented a world war from happening, what would you do?
Block 12 says: “I'd encourage the people of today to learn how to juggle [or something like that]” ~ Joy
Me answers: I'd seriously question my sanity. Come on world, why juggling? Why not ping pong?!
Bonus: Our teacher shared what she thinks is the most creative response to that one: “I'd establish a course on it: BS Juggling.”
Question: What makes you smile?
Block 12 says: “Something funny..stuff like that.” ~ Melvin (commence groans and muttered curses from the rest of the class, kill joy)
Me answers: Well-stated sarcasm, the smell of freshly brewed coffee as soon as I finish my morning bath, a good book, seeing someone trying very hard to impersonate a certain anime character, seeing my co-agents's faces, oh and of course, something funny.
Question: Given a chance, what world crisis would you like to solve?
Block 12 answers: “Poverty.” ~ Neil
Me answers: Prejudice and man's inclination to worship money. Trust me people, by solving both, all the other world crisis would eventually be poof! and everybody can be tralala.
==========================
A/N: The questions there were courtesy of Ms. Miciano's Query 2. [Er, yeah, she wasn't able to buy the first set.]
EDIT: *le gasp* I didn't realize I missed Fiona's name! So sorry!!!
Before we all get scandalized with the title and jump to not-so-innocent conclusions, let me tell you that it's not what you think it is, well, most likely anyway.
First day of school (second semester) is really something I'm not used to attending. It didn't consist of kids bringing dozens of notebooks all neatly covered and branded with the owner's name. It didn't consist of well-ironed uniforms (mostly because we aren't even supposed to wear one). Lastly, it didn't have over-enthusiastic teachers looking and acting their best to either impress or intimidate. In fact, there are no teachers appearing at all.
Save for Sir Chua, my first day was spent lounging in the corridors talking about “serious” girl talk matters and condoms.
Do I have to itemize?
Hmmm, for the sake of passing time (I'm writing this while waiting for my first period which will begin thirty minutes later), maybe I will.
First day first period was the only time something happened, academically speaking that is. It was also the only thing that tried (and failed) to bring me back to Scholarly Mode. Apparently, an hour of talking about the syllabus and expectations and supposedly schedule for the semester wasn't strong enough to jolt me out of limbo; especially when one of your blockmate brought a condom just for kicks.
The class was supposed to consume two hours but for some reasons I'm sure he mentioned but I failed to hear, he dismissed us an hour earlier. The next periods were spent doing the following (in sequence):
-assemble at the corridor
-swap and ask about schedules [who's with who, what lab are you, what's your letter pattern, etc.]
-wait for the instructor/professor
-wait...
-and wait...
-once a third of the period has passed, wait for ten more minutes
-leave
All in all, we were left with a whooping six hours of idleness. Joy, not. Well, not 100% anyway. We got to catch up with each other and avoid being pictured with a condom included in the shot.
Uh-huh.
[End notebook draft here. The following are spontaneously typed in Blogger.]
It's utterly energy draining to wait for that length of time. I honestly felt more tired that day than any other hectic day during the last semester. Never had I felt more frustrated, too. My mind and body had unconsciously braced themselves for the expected onslaught of homework loads and nose-bleeding lessons. So when all preparations went down the drain, mind and body tuned in on anything it can tune in to, like our in-depth discussion of our block mates's sexual orientations.
In other words, girl talk. Serious girl talk.
It's amusing really to find other people who harbors the same suspicions you have. Amusing and somewhat creepy. I know my imagination tends to go over the edge, so I'm not exactly placing some credibility on my opinions. There's always this nagging feeling that 'Hey, chill. You're over reacting. Maybe there's more behind it than what meets the eye” and all that gig. So, it's not actually that comforting to know that others shared the same train of thoughts.
Besides, who cares if they're gay? I don't mind them. As a matter of fact, I have yet to find a gay who's irritating to be with.
[thinking mode]
On a second thought, there are. It just so happens that I'm not closely acquainted with them so I don't exactly have a say in it.
Anyway.
What I'm more frustrated about is that all those idle times create wonders for someone who talks to herself inside her head. Ideas are born every three seconds. During those times, I have already conjured ten scenes for my NaNoWriMo piece. And unfortunately, by the time I got home, only two remained intact in my brain web. It made me want to scream and/or tear my hair out for not being able to preserve those thoughts in black and white. What about a notebook, you say? Or any piece of paper to write the draft on? Ha, been there done that. In fact, I have written my drafts in my notebook. But hey, leave it stagnant and incomplete for several hours and my brain will most likely be unable to recall what have I been thinking when I wrote that. So, in other words, I can no longer relate to what I have written. In shorter words, it's as good as trash.
That's one of the main reasons why I desperately need a laptop. Or at least a voice recorder with a built-in mic (or maybe mic-capable, is there such a term?). At least I can record my thoughts fresh. The first school week will officially end tomorrow (I still have a Saturday class). I sincerely hope we'll have class tomorrow. I'll only go to school for a single subject and I'll be really damned if my efforts will be for naught.
This is what Fiona calls "evil Thursday".
I call it "ebil no-lunch Thursday."
*sobs*
It's not fair! Just when I promised myself I'll be eating more this sem to make up for the energy deficit, they give me this freakin' schedule that somehow wants me to spend 8 hours of non-stop classes!

I need a miracle.
Yes, a miracle.
Thy servant is desperate for one.
Please, Higher Ups?
I'm begging you.
Amen.
And my alter isn't helping, either.
'You got most of the answers anyway, so quit acting like a nervous wreck.'
'You were only forced to hazard guesses on 3 questions! That broke your personal record!'
'You...You...Er...*silence* Aha! You even solved those line problems you stubbornly didn't review the other night!'
-_-'
Honestly, I can't review properly for CS11 because of Math.
I seriously want to pass. Please Higher Ups, please let me pass. I know You Guys Up There can hear me, and I have a sinking feeling that you're enjoying my, our plight too much. Have mercy on your little pawns and let them pass Math17. Goodness knows how Block12 BSCS desperate now.
Please, Higher Ups? Pretty please?
Amen.
